Happy Anniversary and Good Eats

Celebrated our anniversary this weekend! 17 years together, 15 years married. I'd gone to Hipcooks with Ladybug, and thought it would be a fun date night. We made fabulous Argentinian food, learned a lot about cooking and had a great, delicious evening. Happy to still be stickin' it out with this guy.
Working on our knife skills:
Steak with chimichurri, zucchini stuffed with ricotta, mint, and pinenuts:
The most amazing empanadas - we did a beef and a cheese and onion. They were amazing!
Dulce de leche mousse. Perfect way to celebrate 15 years.

More good food, we had a belated girls night for Amber's birthday. Pajama party, Netflix, and our first charcuterie board (there will be more!) It was soooo delish. I ate super well this weekend.

Cutest Basketball Player Ever

It has been so fun watching Cole play basketball. Love these little boys learning the game. It's better than therapy I'd say. Picture day this past Saturday.

The Rest of Winter Break

We came home for basketball and soccer. So fun to watch Cole play for the first time.
Soccer playoffs in the rain! The girls were troopers (though kinda fun to play in the rain.) They tied one and lost one. On to tournament season.
Our kitchen counter is science experiement land - which cheese molds fastest :(
Another New Years resolution came from Tyler - we're gonna take turns making Sunday dinner. Tyler made the best turkey burgers and peanut butter cookies from a cookbook he got for Christmas. Tonight Cole makes quesadillas.
Huge bedroom cleanout! It took about two days and boys donated a ton. Much better now.
Post-cleaning reward:
Secret left-behind selfies :)
Tyler took me running on a course he does with Runners Club. It was hard! But awesome view at the top. I love running with him. Juice It Up afterwards.
Got Christmas put away, so another break from the clean up. Love Six Flags with no lines! Also our last outing with Adam before Henry Danger's final season.
Bumper car buddy:
Souplantation dinner. Audrey's favorite place.
Was brave and hosted a jr. high game night ;). Pizza, drinks, Christmas crack, and lots of games (they never got to the movie.) It was fun to watch Tyler belly laugh with these friends. Telestrations was a hit.
Putting together their Kiwi Crates from Christmas... these were cool gifts. Great way to spend a winter break morning.
Reading. Pjs. Eating up the last of holiday snacks.
These two spent a lot of time together this week. Another trip to Souplantation, high school soccer game, sleepover, donuts. It's been fun for them to hang outside of the soccer field.
Family dinner at Gyromania was sooo delicious, and reminded me of Astoria! We've watched lots of screeners and Mrs. Maisel. Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody are favorites so far. This one always goes for the blanket:
Tyler got his schedule and his new elective is art! It's been a great break, but ready for back to school tomorrow.

Utah!

Three weeks is a looooong winter break, we figured we might as well throw a road trip to Utah in there. First, potty stop in Vegas. So nice to see Adriana, Jason, Rupert, and the sweetest Alannah:
Stayed overnight with Lexi and Nathan at Adam's parents house, then on our way to Kim's. Snow at the gas stop! The kids had to put their feet in, they were so excited.
Once we got to Kim's, more snow. These kids were fantastic travelers.
Sledding with cousins!
Funny pic, but we saw Aquaman in these awesome recliners. Come on California, we need more of these!
Nutella on Utah bread became Cole's favorite breakfast. We ate well, and cooked a lot.
Sunday we didn't go to church, but had a nice FHE to kick off "Come Follow Me", then walked around the Salt Lake temple grounds and visitors center. Even saw an organ concert in the tabernacle. It snowed while we were there - such a nice Sunday!
More snowfall - we were so lucky we got the perfect amount!
Saw Emma's indoor soccer game, and brought donuts to Jodi's house for breakfast. Drove Kim to her doctor's appointment and bummed around Provo while we waited for her. Ordered our first Sodalicious, and hit Deseret Books.
New Year's Eve ice-skating with cousins:
The fire pits were awesome:
We watched Mary Poppins Returns, ate tons of appetizers, dessert and Kim's Christmas Crack chex mix, and played games. Midnight was tons of confetti poppers and sparkling cider. Lots of fun and laughing. Love hearing cousins reconnect.
It was great catching up and spending tons of time with Adam's sisters and Mikey and Veronica. Family time is the best, and look forward to more of it with them this summer. On the way home we always stock up on Utah bread, of course.
Road trip twins. Rey loved hangin' with her cousins Gizmo and Daisy, and behaved herself most of the time.
Now re-entry and trying to take down Christmas. It's been a great break, and still another week to go.
