Saturday

Early morning T-Ball game. Cole got a great pitched hit! Fuzzy, but Cole covering third:
Cole just so happened to get on the same team as Toby and Ashton. It's been fun hanging out with these families on Saturdays. Love cheering for the boys!
Tyler had a game, then lazy afternoon. Sleepy Rey likes to rest on the top of my couch. I need to kick her off before it ruins the cushion, but for now she's just our spoiled girl:
Likes her new bed, though, too:
Tonight we took subs to Placerita Canyon for dinner. FHE getting Audrey ready for her baptism interview with the bishop tomorrow, then an easy hike. The weather was so gorgeous, and nice to spend time outside the five of us, plus Rey. Using Rey as an excuse to get outside and hike more has been great.
Lovely Saturday.

Preschool

Cole got into the TK we wanted for Fall. Excited for him - he's ready for the next big kid step, but bittersweet nonetheless. One more month of preschool. This morning Rey and I walked Cole to school, which who knows, might still happen next year - TK isn't much farther than Grandma K.
Cole's class ready for their Spring program.
They all sang a bunch of springtime songs. Even a Ladybug song I taught them. Cole recited a daffodil poem all by himself - it was adorable, of course. I was so proud of him.
 Enjoying yummy treats afterward:
Every day after school the kids take turns on Grandma K's swing. Pure preschool joy:
I'm sure gonna miss these preschool years. Already savoring this last month. Although Kindergarten is one of my favorite places on Earth - so there's much to look forward to.

Today, and Pinewood Derby

Such a nice morning feeding ducks with these two kiddos. So glad my good friend Emily moved close by. Every few weeks we get together and it's so nice - she's such a great person to have close. Weather was lovely, and seeing the ducks and turtles was a big hit with the boys, of course.
Cutest goose family:
Cole and I hit Trader Joe's real quick. Loved sharing chips and guacamole (his choice) with this kid before we took Rey for a walk. (And let me tell you walking with Rey and Cole is not for the faint of heart! It's like walking with the fastest and slowest people ever!)

Tonight was Tyler's last Pinewood Derby (how did that happen so fast!?) He worked hard on his army truck, and it looked awesome! Unfortunately it consistently came in last. Boo!
Great group of boys:
Adam got a new calling at church so this is probably his last big event as Cub Master. It's been fun putting on these events together for a little over a year. Plus taught us both a lot about scouts (trial by fire!) Good job, Adam!

A Few Weekend Photos

Game ball #2! Oh man this kid is working hard and it's paying off. So nice to see that as a parent. Tyler practices in the backyard almost every afternoon. Two years ago he started out a beginner, now one of his team's pitchers. It's neat to watch, plus such a testimony of hard work. Saturday's game was consistent pitching, got a guy out at home, good hit and scored the only run for his team. Even though the Pirates didn't win, Tyler had a great game.

Lazy Saturday - a girl and her dog. We are really getting used to Rey around here.
Funny dog lounging, watching TV:
Enjoyed a relaxing weekend. Pizza and movie night, bought boogie boards at Costco - getting ready for summer. Took Rey on a nice walk, and outside Sunday dinner. Adam reading a story Audrey wrote, photobombed by Tyler:

Friday's Field Trip

Lucky Friday - Adam and I both got to go on Cole's field trip to Menchie's. I mean, who's gonna say no to that. Cole loved that Adam tagged along.
Kiddos in heaven learning about fro yo and candy:
Happy way to spend a Friday morning.

Baseball Photos

T-Ball Dodgers:
Minors Pirates. Only missing Adam as Assistant Coach! He was working on Picture Day.
We're about half-way through the season and it's been great so far! Love my little sluggers.

Spring Break with Grandpa

Thursday morning was a little crazy. Short version is I dropped Rey at PetSmart for a bath, then took the kids for haircuts. PetSmart called me after a bit because Rey was having poop issues (maybe anxiety? No idea.) Picked her up and luckily the poop stopped at PetSmart, and she ended up getting like three baths because of it. Got home to my neighbor's pool overflowing into my yard - a ton. They weren't home. I freaked out - called Adam, and Brooke, then the fire department who told me to call 911. My first time. Brooke and Luke came over, we jumped the fence, and he actually turned the pool off. Then the firemen came and made sure everything was off and dug a little ditch so the water could drain better, since it was close to coming in my house. It's was nuts, but still kicking myself not getting a picture of the fire truck - kids thought it was pretty cool. Needless to say I know my neighbors better now, and we exchanged numbers for emergencies (better late than never!) No damage from the water, so all is well.

By the time Grandpa and Liz arrived the drama was over and we were so happy to see them. First night we went to Audrey's gymnastics class and Souplantation for dinner. Mmmmmm.

Friday was lunch at Firehouse Subs which was so yummy (turkey cranberry sub!) Glad we found that place thanks to preschool. Then Grandpa's choice: Toys R Us shopping spree and home to play with toys. Perfect in the rainy weather.
These lucky ducks! Grandpa loves Toys R Us, and did when I was little, too. Epic toy trips will be part of his legacy. Kids were in heaven.
Saturday we hit Travel Town. My dad loves trains. Collects them and is building a train room in his new house. He's heard us talk about Travel Town for years, and wanted to finally check it out. The weather ended up being really neat - overcast, rainy, then sun. It was a lovely afternoon, and kids loved splashing in puddles and bringing their umbrellas (California kids!)
Happy Grandpa!
When Liz told us her favorite food is pizza, we knew we had to take her to Topper's. It was a big hit, of course, and great way to end the day.

Sunday was the last day of Spring Break. Still raining! We made a big spaghetti dinner, watched some baseball, played games, and enjoyed hanging out at home. Happy to have Adam with us since he'd been working on a pilot all week.

Monday the kids were back to school. Quiet morning, then we took Grandpa and Liz to the park for Audrey's Girl Scout meeting. These cuties learned about bugs while the rest of us enjoyed the sun finally coming out.
Rey's bestie, Bailey. Bailey is Audrey's friend, Kallie's, dog. These two are so cute together. Both about the same age and they run and play together during meetings. It's a gated park so it's nice to let Rey off the leash and watch the dogs run free. Adorable!
Then dinner at Kisho's. Hannah joined us, too, and it was great to catch up with her. Kids loved watching the food cooked at our table, and it was deeeelish. We ate so well this week.
Sadly after dinner we had to say our goodbyes. We miss Grandpa and Liz already. It was wonderful catching up with them and having family in town. Always makes me wish we lived closer to my family.

Since then we've been back to the grind. School, Ladybug, Adam's last hiatus week. Flat Audrey made it back from the east coast, thanks to Aunt Lauren:
Costco errands and giant ice-cream for two with this cutie. Gotta enjoy my last month or so of preschool hours with Cole - we still get our Mommy/Cole time.
Grandpa Faust made it safely back to Virginia and we're ready for more visitors - who wants to come over?

Spring Break So Far

First dinner outside in quite some time:
Lots of popsicles and ice-cream left over from Easter and birthday celebrations
Relaxing on the porch in the warm weather. I do love our yard, even though the grass is sad right now. Watching kids play, and run with Rey. Jumping on the trampoline right before bed with glow sticks has been fun this week.
Lego building and game playing.
Toppers pizza with a good baseball friend to watch the Dodgers Opening Day. Gotta buy tickets for a game this season!
We went hiking with Rey and all these awesome kids!
Totally pooped out Rey she didn't even make it to her comfy couch spot. But was first hike I took her on just me and the kids (no Adam). Plus taking her in the car, which she is not a fan. Go me! We all did great. We've taken her on quite a few walks this week.
Grabbed books from the library for lazy spring break reading. Had to honor Audrey's request of "movie watching and eating lots of cereal." Picked up The Force Awakens DVD and Star Wars Lucky Charms, plus went to see Zootopia today which was super cute.
Lots of popcorn eating, and still working on Easter candy:
Swimming with friends! Cole loves his new swim suit, of course:
Pizza party by the pool is a great way to finish the day:
Haircuts tomorrow and Rey gets a bath! Then Grandpa Faust will be here - hurrah!
