Summer Friday

Slept in a little (thank you lots of sun.) Walked Rey. Slow morning, then Cole had a swim lesson. We hit the park by April's house afterward since it wasn't 100 degrees outside - a beautiful morning actually.

After the park we totally scored and our awesome friend Emily M. wanted to meet at Café Rio for lunch. So great seeing her, even for a quick lunch with all our kiddos.

Then to the mall where these kids were treated to squishies and tsum tsums. Luckies!

Bummed around the outdoor mall, always have to stop at the turtles and fish:

After that hit Barnes and Noble for their summer reading program. All three kids picked out a free book (love that they do that.) Headed home, stopped for small Slurpees on the way, and read and played video games all afternoon.

Pretty nice way to spend a Friday. Starting to feel vacation mode kicking in.

Summer Day

Starting the day with donuts is always a good idea:

Swim lessons. Cole's favorite is jumping in. April is a fantastic teacher, he loves it and was swimming on his own today!

Tyler and a few good friends had GATE Academy this week. Free science camp put on by the school district. Second year he's gone and he really enjoys it. His favorite was bottle rockets.

Impromptu trip to the Aquatic Center which was so fun. Not super crowded, gorgeous day, fun friends. 

Couldn't find Tyler, then I looked over and he was in line for the high dive! Whaat?! This is my child that took forever to learn to swim, screamed his head off in lessons, and hated putting his head under water. He's come so far! Not a care in the world now...

Nothing beats spending a day in the water with good friends, getting tons of exercise, lots of sun, then home to a movie and easy dinner. We are beat and ready for another summer day tomorrow.

The Week

Summer! Heat wave this week. Basically went between water and air conditioning. I'm finishing up at Ladybug so the kids played with our wonderful babysitter Natalie, who they love and somehow kept my house super clean! Our ward pool day started up again - wahoo!

Did you know it was National Smoothie Day? We had to celebrate and one of the cute girls at our church works at Juice It Up and hooked us up with some drinks to keep us cool:

Cole started private swim lessons with my friend, April. So far, so good!

As fun as it is to go on big outings, I love, love watching my kids play at home together. They got out the trains this week and have been playing for two days straight. More than ever I'm aware that days like this are numbered, so soak it up!

Made sure to get in video game time, too.

Air conditioning! Splurged on Cars 3 because we were sunned out.

This sweet girl is feeling much better, thank goodness. Still on some medicine, but hopefully all is well. She is also enjoying her lazy summer days.

Soccer evaluation for Audrey, #2:

Super fun morning at Hurricane Harbor. So glad we got passes. Loved spending time at the water park with these three. Always wanna come home and watch The Way, Way Back.

Adam and I are obsessed with Turn: Washington's Spies on Netflix right now. Big fan of Netflix binges in the summer.

Big kids finished their swim lessons. Class was called Beginning Stroke Workout and it was a really good brush up at the start of summer. I always catch these two practicing in the pools. Good job, guys!

Dodgers!

Dodger game is becoming one of our summer traditions. Love that we've all become such fans of the game and this team. My kids can name all the players and tell you their favorites. It's a great time, and love the feel of the stadium on a summer night. After we bought tickets, a couple friends did, too, so even more fun to sit with friends and watch the kids cheer. Great night, and we all snagged Brooklyn Dodger hats as a giveaway.

Temple and Hello Summer!

Family visit to the temple was a nice way to start our Saturday. Love these four forever and ever.

We even ran into friends at the Visitor's Center.

Our summer reading/play corner is done for now. When my budget grows again maybe I can finally put something on the wall!

We went to Kindergarten Orientation yesterday! I was kind of over it seeing that school just got out, but it was good to make it a big deal for Cole. He met the teachers, and toured around the classrooms and playground. Two of his three TK buddies coming to his new school:

Picked up some library books on hold, so we made sure to sign up for summer reading. My kids look forward to it, even though the prizes aren't as cool as they used to be.

Crashed the Barty's pool! One of our favorite things to do in summer, and some of our most favorite friends.
