Track Pictures

Her coach calls her "The Silent Assassin":
Lots of kids - all the sprinters, distance runners, and field eventers in Audrey's age group. She's in the front row, right side.
Audrey's coaches (and teachers) always comment she's so quiet. This spitfire girl, who in many ways has been my most headstrong child, and can be crazy, crazy at home. Constant reminder that it is a gift we get to see this side of her. She doesn't show it to everyone - at least not at first. Who would think the thing that has at many times driven me nuts, is actually a gift especially for me, and something I should be most grateful for. Love my one and only girl.

Kid Stuff

Great week of kids stuff going on. The As had a couple of great games, filled with big hits for the boys which is really what they needed. Tyler pitched a lot - so happy he's pitching first season in Majors, didn't know if he would. Fun night out with the team and coaches at Toppers. About a month left this season!
What little brothers and sisters do during long baseball games:
Plus get very dirty.
GATE Night, and what it feels like to be #3 dragged around to everything!
Tyler did some neat projects, and love his poem below.
T-Ball! I didn't get to the game this past Saturday, but Adam said Cole got three hits without the tee! Go Cole!
Track warm ups! Away meet in the valley. It was hot, but we found a perfect spot of shade and enjoyed the meet.
Audrey ran an amazing 400! She was nervous - hadn't run it since the mock meet. Her coach told her some strategy and dang, she implemented it all! Coach was so impressed and she got a lot of compliments. Passed all the girls and held first place until the very end, came in 2nd and a new PR. So proud of her. Two weeks of track left, and she's thinking of ending the season with the 100, 200, 4x100 (her favorite), and the 400. Coach wants her to try long jump, too. We had to leave before the 200 this past Saturday to make it for Tyler's game and she didn't wanna go - she wanted to race. (Her 200 the week prior was super exciting. She was 1st - for the first time, and PR'd.) She's had such a good experience, and I hope we come back next year because the first year is very learn-as-you-go. I feel like she's just now starting to understand strategy and form (I am, too.) She's made a bunch of cute new friends - proud of her trying something new, working hard, and getting stronger.

A Few Photos

Cutest Easter Bunny ever:
Spring flower surprise:
I enjoy her when she's my sleepy girl:
Spring photo! I always forget and send them in a dumb t-shirt, but that makes it funnier I guess - plus the sticker! But his face is oh so handsome.
150% reading awards for the 2nd trimester. Funny thing is they both already have their 150% for the third trimester.
Celebrated with after school ice-cream, and an evening at the park with friends.

Egg Hunt

The Primary Easter Egg Hunt. These guys always look forward to it. Kicks off Easter, and was a great way to end Spring Break. Plus chocolate invades.
Tyler! His last Primary Egg Hunt. Crazy to think this time next year he'll be in Young Men's.
These boys are all so cool.
Then we spent the rest of the day at a super long track meet at College of the Canyons. Worth it to be there as a family and cheer this girl on (we usually split up Saturdays). The 4 x 100 is her favorite race I think. She's been starting leg the last two meets, and was very excited this meet had bibs - just like my and Adam's race.

Spring Break

Adam's hiatus is over! Otherwise we probably would've stayed in Utah for Spring Break. It's been nice being home all week, though. Relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. The kids and I have all been off.

Always, always have to hit Menchies:
These three have spent so much time on the trampoline. They play all sorts of games out there. I bought them a new ball, and it was a big hit for outside play. Love them outside, getting fresh air, exercise, and just playing.
Also enjoy lazing around the house. Sidewalk chalk!
Dodgers Opening Day!
Six Flags day. Fun with friends and the park was dead!
The Flash is these two's favorite ride.
Big deal, I got my scared-of-roller-coaster kids to ride The Ninja!
Audrey looks nervous. She loved it, Tyler loved it, Cole was mad at me and never wants to ride it again.
Our friend told us it was free Ben & Jerry's day, and one just happened to be on the way home from Six Flags. Perfect after that long, hot walk to the parking lot!
Got our car washed and dog washed post-Utah. After errands it was so nice to spend an afternoon at the pool with Brooke and Amber - felt like summer!
There was still track practice:
And baseball practice:
First time working with a pitching coach was cool:
It's been nice hanging with the Bertolas more, since we're all at the track together. Whenever I drive Hailey, Audrey, and Megan to practice all the giggling makes me smile, since I grew up in a house of girls. Love it.
We also hit the library for a ton of books and a biography for Audrey's upcoming project. Made sure to practice piano, and get in plenty of video game time, of course.

Today we spent the morning with these fun friends. The Lee's were visiting from Utah. We still miss Noah. He was a great friend to Tyler when they lived here.
The whole group. Loved all these kids running around playing together this morning.
It's been a great break - gave me a taste of summer, but I'm not quite ready for that just yet.
