Bye-Bye Baseball

For now at least. Gonna go for another season next year, and until then play catch in the yard, and the occasional trip to the batting cage. Throughout this whole baseball experience I've had this pinterest quote in the back of my head: "The comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there." Proud of Tyler for living outside his comfort zone a little. We've witnessed him grow big time. Big parent lesson for me and Adam - occasionally pushing your kid outside their comfort zone is a really good thing (albeit sometimes hard to watch), and something I want my kids to know how to navigate. These are the deep life lessons we learn from little league. ;)

Celebrated with the team at Coach Dennis' house today. Pool party, tons of food, and end-of-season awards. He has an awesome yard, and maybe the pool of my dreams with a rock slide!

Party

I am hosting a virtual party for my wonderful Adriana. She is a wealth of skin care knowledge - my go-to expert. If you've never heard of Arbonne, she is the one to ask. Audition

We signed Audrey up with Adam's agent a while ago, and today she went on her first print audition! Casting notice was for a young girl in pajamas who likes to play with stuffed animals. I mean, really?! How could we not take her. According to her post-audition report, she did great and was only a tiny bit nervous. Proud of her for trying something new on a whim.

This long weekend started rough with me getting a stomach bug and canceling our highly anticipated date night. Luckily it was the 24 hour kind, I was healthy fast and we could swim and BBQ with the Schoenis yesterday. So nice! Planning more swimming and grilling with the Bartys tomorrow, after I teach Ladybug. Oh and we are definitely rescheduling that date night! Grateful for a nice Sunday today. Happy to be in the primary with great kiddos, and the wonderful ladies I serve with - some of them newly called, and I know we'll have a great time together.

We are about half way through Adam's looong haitus. There are highs and lows, but mostly highs I'd say, and our spirits are good. Occasionally worry will get the best of me, and I try to remember a pinterest quote "Worry is literally betting against yourself". I want to thank our "Big Fans" who surprised us big time this week. It's like they just knew and their timing was perfect. I worried a little less because of them. I hope they read my blog so they know it's us who are the big fans, and have said a million thank yous for them, and prayers that their home is blessed because they sure blessed ours. I am humbled, and always inspired by these types of deeds.

Open House

Open House at school tonight - always look forward to it. So grateful for a wonderful school, great teachers and classmates. It's been a really good year.

Kindergarten! I helped in Audrey's class this morning and there is seriously no better place on earth. All the gluing, cutting, and coloring. Cute, funny kids. Can school be like that forever?

Can't believe only three weeks of school left!

Last Game

Last game of the season this afternoon. Man, it's been great. We've all enjoyed baseball (even more than I thought we would). So, so proud of Tyler. He pushed himself in ways he never has before. He and Adam had some serious bonding time playing catch in the yard every day (I did a few times, too). I think after being a little out of his comfort zone for the past three months, Tyler's glad to be done, but plans on gettin' back in it next season. He lucked out with three wonderful coaches, and a good group of boys - it'll be hard to beat next year. Audrey says she wants to play, too!

Morning with #3

Spent the morning at Travel Town with this little guy and two of our favorite friends, Anne and Charlotte. Cole was in heaven with all the trains.

Nice to hang just two of us, doing something special. About seven years I've been bringing my kids to this park. Cole's at the perfect age for it.

Annie and Char, and baby #2 due in July! Thanks for meeting up with us girls. Such a nice morning.

Journal Entry

Tyler's April journal came home in his back pack Friday. I love reading the kids journals. So much funny stuff (or sweet, sensitive, clever, surprising), it's like a little window into their heads. As nerdy as it sounds it makes me wanna do journal prompts all summer to see what they come up with. This one was written by him on April Fool's Day. Love the word bubbles, too, if you can read them. Too funny.

"A joke that I could play on someone is called the You're-Going-to-Fall-Off-A-Cliff-Joke. The trick is that I take someone to a rocky hill. Then I tell them they are going to fall off a cliff, then I gently walk them down the cliff". 

Birthday Finale

Mrs. Williams was out for teacher training yesterday so Audrey wanted to wait until today to bring cupcakes for her class. They sang the cutest birthday song for her, gave her a pencil, sticker, and Happy Birthday certificate. I could tell she felt really special.

Today She's Six

Happy birthday beautiful girl.

We went shopping after school with a birthday gift card. Family breakfast-for-dinner at Ihop, Audrey's choice (she remembered from last year). Audrey has grown up so much this past year, although to keep us on our toes she's having a big ol' end-of-birthday tantrum tonight. Love her to pieces, and grateful for every day with her. Lucky me to be the mama of such a special girl. Happy birthday, sweet and spunky Audrey.

Surprise!

Audrey knew we were throwing a party, but that was pretty much it. She didn't expect it today because her actual birthday is tomorrow. While she was at school this was delivered:

Friends showed up. Kids bounced, played in the yard, rode scooters, sidewalk chalked, hula hooped. Picnicked outside, lots of popsicles. Julie came to paint faces for us. She was so awesome!

One of our favorite buddies Brandon came, and a couple other brothers, so we had a good bunch of boys, too. They bounced outside, but spent a lot of time with Tyler's legos.
