Happy Halloween!

After celebrating for a week it was finally the big day! Started out great with Audrey scoring her first goal this season (she is awesome on defense, but gets nervous on offense so it was a big deal!) I taught Ladybug to a bunch of little ones in costumes - sooo cute! Tonight we trick-or-treated with a big group of friends in Becky's neighborhood. A couple different costumes this time. Hulk and Luke Skywalker. Audrey finally approved her make-up. I love it when they get creative and make it a little different each night.
We had a Halloween themed dinner. Adam's spooky guacamole:
The Osmond's were awesome and had a bunch of games planned, too:
Their neighborhood goes all out with decorations. Lots of trick-or-treaters. Didn't take a ton of pictures because we were just keeping track of kids and enjoying the company and great weather.
Came home to hit a few of our neighbor's houses, and pass out some candy ourselves. The kids counted their loot and have tons. Organized their favorites. It was a fun night!

Big Kids School Party

First, Tyler got the Scholarship Award from Mrs. Carmichael this morning:
Then I spent some time with the second graders. Mrs. Forbes planned a craft party. Lots of Audrey and Ava. These two are in girl scouts together, and have been in the same class since Kindergarten.
Lastly, the school fall festival was tonight. Trick-or-treating, food, bounce house, games, Audrey and I tried the cake walk. It was a fun event with good school friends.
Audrey and some of her best girls:
These three inseparable boys - Tyler, Frankie, Kaiden:
And a couple favorite teachers:
No school Friday. We'll take a lazy day, and a break from the partying until Halloween night!

Preschool Party

It was Halloween at preschool today. Grandma K and Grandma B do such a great job with the kids. Cole had a blast and it was cute watching him with his friends.

Kids sang a bunch of Halloween songs:
Paraded around, and played musical chairs to spooky music:
So cute the grandmas had each kid pass out their own treats for trick-or-treating. Cole brought bubbles and lollipops.
 Happy with his loot:
Happy boys snacking:
Captain America!
Grateful for Cole's fun little school, and a morning spent at preschool.

Halloween Kick-Off

Halloween season is in full swing over here. Front of house all decorated thanks to Adam since I'm not a fan of putting up spider webs.
Halloween nails are pretty fun:
Pulled out the costumes last night for our first official party - the church Trunk-or-Treat. Our house is now full of candy!

Ant Man!
Our Zombie Cheerleader:
Cutest Captain America ever:
Our crew:

And tonight was mummy dogs, apple cider, and pumpkin carving:
Thank goodness for Adam's awesome carving skills.
Bring on Halloween Week!

Pumpkin Patch!

This year our favorite local pumpkin patch didn't open because of the drought (sad!) And big kids have lots of after school activities. We thought of just grabbing pumpkins at the grocery store, but Cole kept mentioning the pumpkin patch. We asked Tyler and Audrey if Cole could pick out our pumpkins. They agreed (and gave him specific instructions), and Adam and I took Cole on an impromptu trip to Tapia Brother's Farm today. It used to be our old favorite pumpkin patch in the Encino days, and I found out it's owned by one of my cutest Ladybug families so we were extra happy to shop there.

I think this is the perfect kid to pick out pumpkins for his whole family:
How many pictures can you take of your kid at a pumpkin patch!? Apparently a bunch. Cole had so much fun wandering around, climbing, checking out the animals and pumpkins.
Told him to make a silly face:
I did the math once and realized Cole will have all four years of high school alone with us (Audrey will be a freshman in college, when he's a freshman in high school!) Hopefully he's still smiling as big to hang with us then.
Pumpkins home safe and sound. The tiny ones are me and Adam. Tyler ordered the wide one, Audrey the tall one, Cole the medium. All approved by Adam - our resident pumpkin carver. Pumpkin carving this weekend!

Horseback Riding

It was a busy Saturday, but ended the best way. The girl scouts went horseback riding at Don-e-brook Farms. Oh my, I'm so glad we found this place. It's affordable, they offer lessons and trail rides. I totally want to go back as a family, or a date with Tyler. Great date with Adam, too. Audrey was in love with her horse. She got right on, and is already asking to go back. I love that we drove 15 minutes and felt like we were far out of the city. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I just love where we live!
Apparently Audrey and Abi's horses were best friends and go everywhere together. They were inseparable.
And they're off!
On the trail. It is gorgeous here!
While the girls rode, the boys and I walked around the farm and checked out the horses.
Ended the afternoon with hot dogs and Halloween s'mores.
On the way out we fed the horses apples and carrots.
Great afternoon with these awesome girl scouts.
