Bad Blogger

More like bad picture taker. Maybe we are adjusting to the new school year, but we've had a great couple weeks.

Soccer season started! This girl is so happy. She loves soccer so much and often tells me she wants to be a BYU soccer player, teacher, and soccer coach when she grows up. Cole should start soccer soon, too, then Tyler fall baseball.
The eclipse! Love that our district got the kids glasses. Our school did a great job, and my kids came home raving about their day. We have a couple dads that are NASA contractors (one was in Audrey's class last year and did special lessons every week). They brought in neat telescopes the kids could look through, too. So cool!
Adam's work got them all glasses, and I learned that parents don't bring babies anywhere during an eclipse - all my Monday Ladybug classes were like four kids each!

Cole's having an awesome time in Kindergarten. A year of TK means easy adjustment. I love watching Audrey and Tyler take him to the Kindergarten playground each morning, and they pick him up after school.
Tyler is running for 6th grade student council. Treasurer, I think.
Audrey is signing up for chorus! (Choir nerd in me is so happy about this.)
Homework has been light, and slow entry into after school activities.
Adam back at Henry Danger, workshops, and new pilot for Amazon.
I am finishing up Ladybug summer session, and have enjoyed my free mornings! A couple hikes and lunch with friends. A pedicure. Even saw The Glass Castle after finishing the book, which was wonderful. Figuring out classroom volunteering. Turning 40 this week!!!!

This Sunday morning Adam is teaching, and we are grabbing a couple hours outside before the crazy heatwave hits! My new book - I'm making us all read it since the movie comes out this fall. So good.
Happy Sunday. Happy end of August and almost Labor Day Weekend. I'm feeling fall creeping in (despite 100 degree temps) and I don't mind.

First Day of School!

All kids at one school! They were so excited this morning (or as Tyler says, excurvous.) Everything went smoothly. I think it's gonna be a really good year.
 6th grade!!!
 4th:
 Kindergarten:
These two were so happy to see each other! In the same class again this year. Then Audrey told me Andrina threw up after recess today... awesome.
Cole picked out a Batman t-shirt for the first day, then he saw Tyler's Minecraft and had to match.
Frankie and Tyler. In the same class with Kaiden, too.
Ava, Audrey, and Andrina all in class together
Mr. Independent walking to the Kindergarten playground:
 Love these two handsome boys:
Cole's in the same class as all his TK buddies, plus two church friends and a baseball friend!
Cookies after school and they told me allll about their day.
No complaints and ready for Day 2.

End of Summer Break Beach Day

It has been an absolutely fantastic summer vacation. We are so lucky to have spent it with so many wonderful friends and family on both coasts! Today was a fun day at Zuma with Ellie and Timmy. Being on the beach with these guys was a great way to finish our summer break.
Last box of samoas!!
Came home to lots of traffic, Chipotle for dinner, and lots of texting - class lists were up at school and everyone asking who's in which classes. Tyler has Miss Jones, Audrey - Mrs. Eaton (again, yay), Cole - Mrs. Rangel. They're all super excited and already know a bunch of good friends in each of their classes, so hooray! Lots of excitement around here for Monday.

Happy Birthday and Sun and Haircuts

Rey is two! We are so lucky she is our dog. Really, her personality is so fantastic and fits perfectly with these kids, even if it means at times she's truly my fourth child and drives me a little nuts. She was meant to be our girl. I can tell she is growing up.
Birthday treat:
A few birthday toys:
She lives a charmed life.
Speaking of charmed life, my kids pretty much have done this all week:
Swimming and sunbathing and snacking poolside for three straight days. Yesterday we spent 4 hours at Becky's pool. Living it up at the end of summer break.
Cutest friends:
Today we took a brief break from the sun for back-to-school haircuts. Lookin' sharp!
She is super into this book series. Childhood!
Tomorrow we hope to hit the beach, and kids get to find out their teachers!

Our Week

The number one thing I think my kids did this week was play and play and play with Legos. There's a whole Lego World in the boys room - with Cars and Calico Critters mingled in. I love when they get in a groove and play so well together.

This girl got herself all ready for shoe shopping at the mall:
Pretty much for the last three years we go to Skechers before school starts and find something for everyone. They always have good sales and their shoes last forever. Plus one stop for this mama who doesn't super love the mall. That's the end of my Skechers commercial ;).
Hurricane Harbor day! Sometimes you have churros and vitamin water for lunch when the food lines are too long.
Hurricane Harbor friends:
My seriously most favorite right now - fresh fruit with chili and lime! Mmmmmm. You can make it yourself or have the guy at Frutas Locas make it, and for some reason his is always better.
My good book. Quick read so far. My bookmark forever.
Favorite candle find. I should've bought two:
Cole had Kindergarten assessment. Crazy! He's excited to be at school with Tyler and Audrey this year. I'm excited to have a Kindergartner. He told me he only got "b" and "d" wrong, then said "Mom I should've just remembered bed, because then I remember the b goes forward." Cute, smart kid. He is so ready for Kindergarten.
Pretty nice way to laze in bed in the morning. Tyler reading, and snuggled by a puppy.
Threw an Un-birthday pool party for the Activity Days girls, where we celebrated all their birthdays on the same day. It was super fun, and it's really neat to get to know all these cute girls better.
Church Summer Fair and I didn't take enough pictures. It was really fun - games, prizes, dunk tank, cake walk, burgers and hot dogs, watermelon and dessert. Great party!
And yes we finally caught the ice-cream man! Been saving their $5 all summer and he finally came on a Saturday!
