This Weekend Was...

Gorgeous weather
Morning run with Brooke (yes, I ran)
Play ball! Tyler got a good hit.
Pretty toes
Grandparents stayed with kids.
Yummy Wokano dinner
Chocolate
Overnight with Adam at the Hyatt
Reeelaxing outdoor spa
Comfy bed, good movie, and sleep!
No wake up call
Perfect hotel breakfast, which for me means steel-cut oatmeal with toppings bar, grapefruit juice, and sharing Adam's bacon.
Lovely Sunday afternoon spent with family

While we were gone kids got Happy Meals, made rice krispy Easter bunnies with Grandma, and stayed up late watching movies. A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Tait for offering to stay with the kids so Adam and I could get away for the night. Much needed, and truly appreciated.

Pinewood Derby

Oh man the last couple days have been busy, busy. Yesterday I drove all over this valley - Tyler to baseball, we thought Audrey had a bladder infection so last minute to the doctor (seriously on opposite sides of our valley). All was well, and all worked out - but I am pooped. At least the day ended with Tyler having a blast at his first Pinewood Derby. My first, too. Grandma and Grandpa came, and it was a really fun night. Finally made it to the scout store - how handsome is this guy:
His car in all it's glory. Spiderman was Tyler's idea. Kinda cool because he made it with Adam and Adam's dad. The car consistently came in third. Tyler already has some good ideas for next year.

Tait super readers!

Kids representing mom and dad at school today. Big thanks to my wonderful friend Kerry who sent Audrey's shirt straight from Ithaca!

Adam's Birthday Weekend

This guy is 41! So glad I've celebrated the last twelve birthdays with him. Here's to many more. We celebrated with the kids at Island's last night - Adam's choice. Opened some presents and ate yummy cake.

Then Sunday dinner at his parents house. Love this family:

We are lucky enough to celebrate next weekend, too - Adam's parents are staying with the kids so we can sneak away for the night! Hooray for birthdays.

The Week

My week has consisted mainly of taking care of this croupy little guy, and Audrey, who's fighting a cold. Thanks to Brooke for lending me her diffuser and potions.
Our attempt at a leprechuan trap:
School pancake breakfast for hitting their reading goal this semester. Cole was not happy to be there this particular morning.
Lucky me got to help celebrate Brooke's birthday twice this week. With Encino girls, and Santa Clarita girlfriends:
Then there's baseball, lots of it this week.
Audrey's new favorite thing is jump rope:
This sickie was a trooper:
Adam's birthday is tomorrow! Michelle baked us this awesome cake with salted caramel buttercream and Heath bar on top. Perfect for Adam. Bring on the weekend.

Big Day

Tyler is a new member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

Baptized by Grandpa Tait. Right when we got to the church Tyler got teary-eyed about putting his head under water. Later he told us once the talks began before the baptism, he wasn't nervous anymore. Lots of wonderful friends and family out to support our guy. Afterward we celebrated at Souplantation with grandparents, Mikey, Veronica and Danny. I could tell Tyler was really happy - it was truly a lovely evening. So grateful for this church and all the love and peace it brings my family.

Friday

Kids had off school because of parent/teacher conferences. I lucked out and didn't have to go to any! Kids are doing great - right on track, and had a wonderful semester. We spent the morning at the zoo with old Studio City friends - Alli, Diana, and Michelle and all their kiddos. Gorgeous weather. Now our windows and back door are open, and we are playing, practicing some baseball, and movie night in a bit. Looking forward to a big weekend - this kid is getting baptized tomorrow:
Seriously seems like yesterday Tyler was my little guy. Now getting more and more independent, growing up so fast. This morning, however, he came in my room at 6:45, "Mommy, can I cuddle with you?" Oh my gosh - yes! Those days are few and far between, I'll take 'em whenever possible.

We Love Daylight

Yes it is nice enough to bust out the kiddie pool today. Tyler practicing batting with Adam in the background.

Weekend

Tyler all decked out for first Little League game ever!
I was dying I couldn't go because of Ladybug this morning, but Adam sent a bunch of texts. Tyler is probably the most "beginner" on his team. He basically had zero batting practice before this game. Struck out twice, then hit and scored a run for his team. Oh my gosh, so exciting! Great first game, and Adam is super impressed with the coaches, other kids on team, so Little League is feeling good so far.
Tyler up to bat:
(PS - We are selling chocolate bars for Tyler's team for $1, so local friends if you need a chocolate fix you know where to come. Got lots of it over here.)

We are dancing to this song like crazy lately, at Ladybug and in my living room. So great at the Oscars. You cannot listen to this and be sad. Seriously if you are in a bum mood, blast this one.

Bought plane tickets so we are officially going to Virginia this summer. Yay! Really want to travel right now - hope to plan a couple summer trips.

Happy Weekend, and hurrah for the time change! Hate losing the hour of sleep tonight, but love the extra sunshine.

Little League!

Started today. Tyler's first time, and he did great. Proud of this kid. Team is the Yankees.
Coaches seem super cool. Very positive and fun, but they expect a lot from the boys. First game Saturday morning!
Practices are at a nearby school with a nice playground so thankfully Audrey and Cole have plenty to keep them busy.
Looking forward to the season!

Great Outdoors

I love where we live. Just a few miles away you can hike and feel like you are away. Quiet, nature, all that fun stuff. Lovely morning spent with these two.

This Morning

Audrey's Kindergarten class had a performance with their music teacher, Mr. Peters. Sang a song, and did another with rhythm sticks. It was pretty cute. Love the kid in the front row with sunglasses.
Then I spent the morning cleaning house with this guy in tow. Was nice having a morning at home.
Oh, and this afternoon Audrey came home with this award:
She's been super motivated to tie her shoes after learning her teacher passes out certificates, and I guess Audrey's name is on the wall in class, too. Great idea!

Rain, Rain

And lots of it. These California kids wanted to jump right in and play today.
