Goings On

Our church had Sports Day at the park. Didn't take nearly enough pictures. It was super fun. Tyler and Adam played a great softball game. Kids played all sorts of games, ate tons of watermelon. Water balloon toss with Megan:

Speaking of books, I had an Usborne book party and long story short it was a success! I was totally nervous about it - but it was great, made a new friend in Katie, and got a ton of summer books for the kids. They all arrived this week. It's inspired me to turn a corner of our house into a reading nook for summer. We love Nibbles:

These reusable doodle cards are so cute! Definitely coming on the plane with us to Virginia. Tyler read his giant Greek Mythology book in 2 1/2 days. So many cool books, I'm really glad I did it, and now I'm a big Usborne fan.

Adam's parents were here with Veronica. Got to meet (and snuggle) our newest niece, Collins. Always a sucker for little girls with dark hair and olive skin (Audrey!):

Great long weekend, now 3 more weeks of school! Home stretch.

Farewell A's

It was kind of a tough season for this team - being the youngest in majors by far. Not a lot of wins, but dang these boys sure love the game and were great sports. Fantastic coaches, played with good friends, and a big bonus of a young team - Tyler was one of the more experienced players and got a ton of playing/pitching time.

Celebrated with a kids vs. parents baseball game, then Toppers. Tyler pitched to me and I hit twice! Made it to first, then Audrey was my runner because she wanted to so bad. It's been a loooong time since I played baseball (like maybe high school PE!?)

Cute friends who've been on the fields together for a few years. Little League feels more and more like family each year - so many know Tyler and our family. It's neat to watch each other's kids grow in sports and cheer them all on.

Coach Marc said some great things about Tyler. One of the best coaches Tyler's had, and just a great guy.

Love these boys and their families. Baseball and church together is pretty great.

'Til next season, and we'd sure love another one with Coach Marc and the A's.

Audrey Post

Today was neat - I picked Audrey up early from school and we hit Six Flags, just the two of us. Rode some roller coasters, had lunch, a few more rides, then picked up the boys from school. The last of her birthday celebrating. The park was so empty we got off roller coasters then got back on for a second ride. Loved spending a gorgeous afternoon with my girl.

She picked out matching necklaces for us, and an emoji pillow for a birthday souvenir. Love this girl.

Birthday + Mother's Day

Started the day with (kind of) sleeping in? Audrey ran in early and jumped on me, yelling "It's my birthday! It's my birthday!" But I managed to fall asleep again after that. Rey even snuggled me in bed. I am now a big fan of celebrating Audrey's birthday and Mother's Day on the same day. First time in her life that happened, and it was pretty neat. We opened all sorts of presents. Someday I will miss all these school-made treats:

Audrey is super into Trolls. She got Poppy from Tyler and Cole, a whole bunch of clothes from me, and money! This girl wants to go shopping. I'm afraid she might come home with a dozen new stuffed animals... we'll see.

Adam made us delicious Chicken Caesar Salads, then Strawberry Jello Cake for dessert!

The night ended with big snuggles, watching Alexander and the No Good, Very Bad Day, which I loved.

Happy birthday Audrey. Technically, while I'm typing this, you're not quite 9 - having been born so close to midnight you almost had a May 15th birthday. Eight has been such a fantastic year for you - I'm excited to see what nine will bring. It's always a treat to watch you grow, and share your days with you. Looking forward to summer and more time together. Our sweetest, spunkiest, #1 girl.
