Awards and Stuff

A couple things to celebrate this week. Cole's first big kid school award. He earned it for "working hard everyday." How cute is that?!

So nice that Adam and I both got to go cheer him on.

Tyler graduated from Cub Scouts, earning his Arrow of Light award. It is a lot of work! We are super proud of him. Can't believe he's 11 next month, and will start Boy Scouts.

The weather has been crazy here. Tons of rain, then cold, hail, wind. I'm kinda ready for 80. Here's a view of our snow-capped mountains:

Adam and I start Week 5 of half-marathon training. Ran with my good friend Becky today, which always makes it go faster. Plus needed someone to conquer these crazy winds with.

Super nice husband left me roses chocolates on our anniversary. Toppers lunch the next day. Excited to sneak away to San Diego in a few weeks.

Ready to enjoy a couple more slow weekends before they're filled with baseball and track. Girl Scout cookies will invade tomorrow!!!

Lucky 13

15 years together, 13 years married.

Happy anniversary to us.

Right now we are training for a half marathon together, which has been pretty fun. We're navigating hiatus, which is not quite as fun, but definitely bonding. We're puppy parents and I couldn't do it without him! We've invested in our family and our favorite three with all our hearts - which is the best. We're not celebrating much this week (lunch? chocolate? late night movie binge?) but we planned a little getaway next month to see our wonderful friend, Maureen, perform with San Diego Opera. Thankful for grandparents willing to come stay, and theater hook ups! Happy to keep celebrating into February, and here's to continuing our adventure together.

MLK Day

Training buddies. Cole made it around one lap, Audrey and Tyler two. Audrey could've kept going but then Rey got out of the house to join us which caused all sorts of commotion.

Enjoyed sleeping in and a lazy, no-schedule Monday. Hit the park when kids got restless. Yay for sunshine, though I hear more rain is coming.

New Years

2017! It's been a fun first week. Got new phones for Christmas and finally set them up. That kept me slow on pictures and blogging. This week has been home, rain, movies, reading, haircuts, video games, birthday parties, and friends. Lots of friends came over - school, church, and soccer friends. It's been neat to see the kids play. Here are the few pictures I took:

I've enjoyed cooking this week actually. Kids got in on it, and made dinner for us which was a big hit. Adam and I were even waited on.

Geocaching with friends at Hart Park. This completed cub scouts for Tyler! He has his Arrow of Light award, and will be moving up in February.

Birthday party!

Lots of rain, and it's been fun to let the kids play the Xbox a ton since it's vacation. Finally a sunny day and we hit the park for exercise. Family football and basketball games, hop scotch, scooters, and took the boys remote control Christmas toys.

First basketball game! Tyler's team seems great and won the game. Coaches are members of our church, which is neat. Tyler broke away with the ball and scored, also two great assists. We played Timmy's team today.

Crazy spectators:

It's been a great long vacation. I've especially loved staying up late watching screeners and nominated shows with Adam, and not setting an alarm for the mornings. I know we're ready for routine, but reentry might be tough.

2016 was good to us. Big deals were Audrey getting baptized, finding Rey, and surviving our first year as homeowners. Here are a few thoughts for 2017:

I'm turning 40!

Fingers crossed, Virginia this summer.

Half marathon this spring. Week one training done! (New fitbit gift is helping.)

Hope to see Hamilton.

Gonna enjoy the last year (and a half) of my kids all in elementary school. It's not lost on me that change is around the corner, and I have loved the elementary school years.

Maybe finally get family pictures taken?

Family resolution - continue last year's FHE goal. I give us an A for effort, but maybe a B- execution.
