Utah Thanksgiving

We had a great week off in Utah with family. Were able to (thankfully) miss traffic. Easy travel with kids and dog. Lots of cousins, Adam's parents, Ryan, Troy, Mikey, and Kim and families were there. So great to spend a relaxing week together. Much to be thankful for.

We have loved visiting Southern Utah since Adam's parents moved. It's beautiful. I actually enjoyed running in the mornings - gorgeous, open mountain views from their neighborhood.
Our first day was rainy. We went to a wildlife museum, then ran around in rain and rode the carousel.
Adam's parents went out, so we had the place to ourselves. Dinner and hot chocolate game night, which ended in two spilt drinks and tears over who was winning. Good times.
Went on an awesome hike in the middle of who-knows-where beautiful Utah. Riding in the back of Grandpa's truck down dirt roads was a big hit. So many deer and cows crossed in front of us.
Cole's awesome dab:
Super neat hike through Peek-a-boo Canyon:
We picnic lunched, then went to these crazy sand dunes. So fun! Such a workout climbing up.
A family gave us their sled so we all sled down the dunes. It was a blast.
Audrey climbing up a hill with the sled:
Around Grandma's house:
There were six dogs there for Thanksgiving Day! It was crazy, and hilarious. Audrey was in love with the tiny ones. Someday she'll get her own.
Playground by Grandma's house, and climbing rocks out their backyard:
I wish I got more pictures of Thanksgiving Day and dinner. Full house and food was delicious. So much pie! I also got strep throat while we were there (lame!), so rested quite a bit.

Last day was Lexi's birthday. We all went mini-golfing, arcade, laser tag and go-carting. Funny I saw my good friend Emily and her family there, too!
Tiny go-carts, but kids loved the big ones:
Wonderful trip and even saw Adriana and Jason on the way. We are so, so thankful for friends and family near and far. They truly are the best part of our lives.

Saturday

Waking up all snuggly to sunshine and cooler weather:
Post-soccer game ice-cream. Lava Girls won their game today. We think this means they're going to playoffs. Stay tuned.
Entertaining ourselves at Tyler's last baseball game.  Biggest fans, and baseball games are loooong.
Tyler! What a fun season. So glad we tried Fall ball at Hart. Would recommend to anyone. Plus no pressure, instructional season. Tyler played every position but catcher. He was a little blocked hitting now that pitches are coming fast, but today got a great hit! A few of his old baseball friends came to watch, which was very cool. 'Til spring!

And We're Off

Thanksgiving Week ahead and all five of us are officially on vacation. Looking forward to a break from school, work, activities, homework, and general to-dos. A few photos from our last week.

I spent Thursday morning in Cole's class, where they had a Thanksgiving scavenger hunt, sang "Five Little Turkeys" to classes around campus, and had a turkey party with pumpkin muffins and treats. Cole and his good buddy Ryan:
Finally got Audrey's soccer photos. It's been a great season, and two more games left. Audrey has played fantastic in all positions, but is one of her team's top keepers. Her coaches also nominated her for the All-Star team. It has been fun cheering for her and the awesome Lava Girls.
Always fun to play your good friends:
Cute new haircut:
Ready for the last day of school before Thanksgiving break:
Choking your little brother?!
Friday morning drop off with this cool kid:
Audrey was a pepperoni in her class Thanksgiving Day play today. "No Turkey for Perky." It was absolutely adorable and so cliché elementary school theater. Loved every minute! And she really enjoyed putting on the play. I need to find some community or children's theater for her.
Movie night after Tyler's last baseball practice. Snuggling in with our cooler weather.
