JetHawks and More...

This week was a lot of baseball as this kid went to baseball camp with the Lancaster JetHawks.

Instruction from the players and coaches was really neat. Kids rotated stations - pitching, batting, fielding (infield and outfield.) Played wiffle ball. Lunch at the field. And luckily the day ended right after lunch, before the heat really kicked in. Tyler met some new friends, and had a really great time.

While Tyler was at camp we had friends over, went swimming a bunch, and babysat a hamster.

We enjoyed lazy evenings watching lots of Shark Week! Adam and I finally caught up on The Crown and it got super good. Went to the wonderful baptism of our friend Anna. I'm actually reading a book! Baseball camp ended with tickets to Saturday night's JetHawks game.

Past Week or So

Audrey went to musical theater camp and looooved it.

Performed for the parents the last day and we were super impressed. I honestly wasn't expecting that much after a week, but they performed Footloose (singing and dancing with a real music director on piano which was nice), a hip hop number from Trolls (Audrey does a mean Coffee Grinder and Baby Freeze now), and Moana. They also worked on numbers from Catch Me If You Can, and Good Vibrations, and played all sorts of acting games. I may have cried because I love watching kids love musical theatre.

While Audrey was at camp one morning, the boys and I hit Hurricane Harbor early.

Audrey and Adam met us after camp. Lots of friends there that day. Love having our passes.

Sophie was 8 when we all lived in the apartments in Encino! So happy we got to celebrate with her and see a bunch of old friends.

Finally put together Adam's Father's Day present. Why is a hammock so awesome!?

We did a tiny bit of Back-to-School shopping, but we still don't feel like thinking that the first day is only 2 1/2 weeks away. I had my first day back at Ladybug for summer session. Adam took the kids to the zoo. Loved they texted me pictures and enjoyed their morning together.

 Celebrated a couple birthdays. Presley's luau-swim party. Toby's Chuck E. Cheese party:

Went to the library a couple times. Had Scouts and Activity Days. For Activity Days we talked about healthy eating and I made a jug of spa water (cucumber, lemon, mint), and my kids have been obsessed with making spa water ever since! We've made four or so different flavors and still going. Lemon and orange has been the favorite. Random, funny things that catch on, but at least it's healthy! We've also had plenty of swim days with friends, and one evening was even overcast and 70 - the hot tub felt perfect.

When I found out Suzanne would be in town, I knew it would be so neat to have her take some family photos of us. Even though we were probably still jet-lagged. We were so lucky to spend the afternoon with her in Santa Monica, catch up with a great friend, and get a few awesome pictures through the eyes of a photographer we absolutely love.
