School Today

Audrey was honored at school today - Mrs. Adachi presented her with the Citizenship Award for her class. Afterward I helped with their Halloween party, and I taught the kids a pumpkin song.

School Fall Festival was tonight. The whole school was decorated like "Alice In Wonderland" and looked amazing. We trick-or-treated classroom to classroom and played with friends.

We are pretty pooped tonight, and have tons of candy, but gearing up for the big day tomorrow.

Trunk Or Treat

Party one of three - church trunk or treat. We had a great time and kids came home with tons of candy (especially Audrey who told me she took four laps around the trunks!) Didn't get the best pictures of kids' costumes, but I've got two more chances.

Day Off

Adam is back from his crazy web shoot (that he seems very happy with), just in time for me to grab a day away with these lovely ladies. We celebrated Becky's belated birthday at Disneyland Tuesday.

It was all done up for Halloween which is always a treat. Would love to come with the kids this time next year - the Tuesday before Halloween was low crowds and beautiful weather.

Sunday

This afternoon we painted pumpkins. Saving the big one to carve with Adam because he's way better at it than me.

And we got "Booed"! A big, huge thank you to our boo-ers. Now it's our turn!

Goal!

Oh man, this morning was busy - Adam shooting web series so basically we'll see him Monday, I taught Ladybug (it's our Halloween week and the kids wear costumes and it's adorable), Audrey had soccer pictures and a soccer game. All before 1pm. Thank goodness for our babysitter, Megan, who held down the fort, and Audrey's teammate and her parents for getting her to pictures! Luckily I got to Audrey's game with the boys just in time for her first goal ever! She was beaming and super proud. Love this girl and how hard she plays.

Tyler asked if I'd pay him 10 cents a minute to massage me during the game. Yes! I'm only out a quarter though.

Tradition

We may have hit a pumpkin patch with them every year for the past four or five years, so when Michelle texted me she was bringing Jonah and Ashton to Lombardi Ranch this afternoon, we had to go. Such a nice afternoon spent with wonderful friends. Our pumpkin patch last hurrah!

Everyday Stuff

Cole has spent a few Monday mornings with Brooke while I'm at Ladybug. When I tell him he's going to Brooke's he gets so excited to play with Ivy and Rusty, their dog. Love this picture Brooke got! Rusty does not look amused.

Also Monday I had the most delicious butternut squash soup ever made by my friend and new neighbor Emily G. Lucky me she saved me some because she knew it's one of my favorites. Don't wanna lose the recipe.

It's Red Ribbon Week at school where they have extra assemblies and talk about being drug-free and stuff. Extra school spirit, too, like crazy socks day:

Wednesdays are library days for me and Cole. We go to story time with some of his buddies, and afterward checkout books and play computer games.

Family Weekend

We've had a great weekend. Friday after school I took the kids (plus Dewy) to see Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. We loved it! Adam's about to start working crazy hours on a web series he's shooting, so we took advantage of together time and hit Lombardi Ranch Saturday. Pumpkin picking, wagon ride, corn maze, petting zoo, and more. So fun the five of us! Cafe Rio for dinner afterward was deeelicious!

Stuff to Watch

Meet The Mormons! We saw it, and it was great. Try to find it at a theater near you, I know it's playing by us through the weekend at least. Plus all proceeds go to American Red Cross. Watch the trailer here. Loved the football coach singing "I Am a Child of God" in primary.

We have watched so many pilots this Fall, but I don't know if any of them will stick. A to Z was pretty cute, and surprisingly Selfie which is a modern day My Fair Lady. Interested in Marry Me. How to Get Away with Murder was intense, but maybe not a keeper. Still love Parenthood, and Wednesday nights with The Middle, Modern Family, and Nashville.

Also we are loving The Voice this season with Pharrell and Gwen Stefani. So, so good!

Weekend

Yesterday was Ladybug, soccer, and a day spent with Adam's family. While I celebrated with the girls at Veronica's Halloween baby shower, Adam and his dad took the kids hiking to this cool abandoned cabin in the mountains near their house.

Today was a nice relaxing Sunday. Started decorating for Halloween, too. Back to school tomorrow!
